As a member of the DigiTeRRI project consortium, WeDo participated in this online round table hosted by WTZ Süd on 5 February to discuss an RRI approach for science and innovation in light of present and possible future developments and the key issues going forward for scientists and researchers.
Numerous European RRI experts took part in this exchange of views on new orientations in the mindset of scientists, cooperation methods, stakeholder engagement and developments in EU funding.
The panellists stressed how scientists need to react to society’s needs in Responsible Research and Innovation and how the focus should be looking to the future and aiming for sustainable R&I.
The main takeaway from the round table was the need to instil co-responsibility and engage everyone in the research process in order to align it with society’s needs.
Communication and dissemination were emphasised, with the onus on scientists and researchers to communicate their research and results to society at large.
