Light4Lungs

Transforming lung Infection treatment

Light4Lungs tackled antimicrobial resistance in treating chronic lung infections, such as those caused by cystic fibrosis and hospital-acquired infections, by developing a novel inhalable photodynamic therapy using breathable light sources. This drug-free approach bypassed multidrug resistance and avoided invasive methods, focusing on luminescent particles and aerosol technology for targeted lung delivery.

The project aimed to revolutionize treatment for respiratory infections and other lung diseases,
with potential applications in healthcare, nanomedicine, and materials science.
